A superb George III mahogany chest of drawers of exceptional quality, dating to circa 1800, and presented in remarkably well-preserved original condition. This elegant piece showcases beautifully figured mahogany throughout, with a rich, warm tone and finely polished surface that highlights the natural grain.
The chest is arranged in a classic configuration of two short drawers over three long graduating drawers, all retaining their original brass swan-neck handles and matching brass escutcheon plates. The drawers are oak-lined and demonstrate excellent craftsmanship, running smoothly and offering generous storage.
Standing on shaped bracket feet, the chest possesses a refined yet understated silhouette typical of the late 18th century, allowing the quality of the timber and proportions to take centre stage. The top is of particularly pleasing colour and figuring, adding to the overall visual appeal.
