A very elegant walnut French coffee table in the Louis XV style, circa 1900, the shaped top finely inlaid with a chequered parquetry design framed by a contrasting banded border. The gilt-bronze (ormolu) mounts are well cast, decorating the serpentine apron and terminating the cabriole legs with foliate sabots.
The whole piece is of graceful proportion with good colour and movement to the veneers, displaying the refined craftsmanship typical of late 19th- to early 20th-century Parisian cabinet makers. Light wear consistent with age, presenting beautifully.
A decorative and highly usable table, perfect for a drawing room or elegant salon interior.
