Description
The chest is a very decorative piece with heavy solid brass studs and beautifully tooled brass front panel with a central lock (not lockable), The exterior of the chest is embellished with beautifully studded design and brass and steel strapwork with some ebony inserted to the corners. A superb piece showing the wonderful craftsmanship of the brass workers. Inside the original lidded candle box is intact and this has a sliding bottom panel which reveals a secret compartment below, raised on bracket feet and brass decorated apron . This solid chest has a lovely colour and good antique patination and lovely colour to the polished brass.
