This 19th century Morris Sussex Chair designed by Phillip Webb for Morris & Co and likely made for Liberty.
Designed with inspiration from earlier chairs commonly found in Sussex, the style of chair soon became iconic in the Arts and Crafts era.
With nicely turned front legs and stretchers and a quarter pattern rush seat, and an impressive open design back panel.
Very nice condition with only one strand of rush broken (see photos)
