Description
This is a 17th century, English, William and Mary period chest of drawers in oak.
A solid construction, this chest has a glorious patina and a deep rich colour. The drawers are oak lined with dado rabbet joints and fronted by geometric field panels adorned with brass drop handles and cherubs either side of the keyhole escutcheons with working locks and key.
In a classic 5 drawer configuration the graduated sizes offer flexible storage in a beautiful, historical cabinet. There are two single drawers at the top then two double drawers, the lower of the two being a deeper depth.
Raised on 5 robust bluster-turned legs, bun feet the chest and curved stretcher.
It possesses great proportion in a wonderfully honest substrate.
