An unusual limited edition ‘Spherical Weight’ lacquered brass novelty timepiece in excellent original condition, created for The Heritage Collection by Harding & Bazeley, Cheltenham in c.1980. nThese clocks were made as a limited edition of 1000 The clock has 20 polished metal spheres to apply the driving force through gravity. It can however be spring driven, wound by the spokes of the main wheel
The movement backplate is signed Sinclair Harding & Co. and is mounted with a Swiss 11 jewel lever platform escapement, protected by an acrylic box.
The posted frame is surmounted by a curved track to hold the heavy polished spheres that propel a six spoked wheel below to power the movement.
Roman chapter ring and plain centre carrying the name plaque, on a moulded wooden and baize lined base.
