Victorian Pine Kist / Blanket Box SAI4306

A characterful Victorian pine kist, richly carved to the front and lid with interlaced geometric and foliate motifs. The carving has excellent depth and definition, giving the piece real presence while still retaining the honest charm of softwood furniture from the period. The interior is plain and original, with an old paper lining to the lid — a lovely surviving detail that speaks to its age and domestic history.
Solid, practical and decorative, it works beautifully as a blanket chest, coffee table or storage piece, bringing warmth, texture and a touch of Victorian craftsmanship to any interior.
