Description
A handsome Victorian mahogany reclining armchair, presented in excellent antique condition and retaining its adjustable back and extending footrest. Beautifully crafted in solid mahogany, the chair features elegant scroll arms, turned front legs terminating in brass cup castors, and a shaped upholstered back.
The chair is upholstered in red leather, finished with traditional brass studwork and buttoned detailing to the backrest. The warm mahogany frame displays excellent colour and figuring, complementing the deep tones of the leather.
Designed for comfort, the back reclines to various positions while the upholstered footrest extends smoothly to create a relaxing chaise-like seat. Combining quality craftsmanship with practical functionality, this Victorian recliner would make a superb fireside, library or reading chair.
A fine and increasingly sought-after example of Victorian adjustable seating, offering both decorative appeal and exceptional comfort.
