Description

A British Admiralty Pattern 301 folding knife with stag handle, single blade, marlin spike and copper bale. The 301 pattern was manufactured for the Royal Navy with stag antler scales from 1910 to the early 1930s. This particular example was made by Joseph Allen & Sons of Sheffield.

This knife is in good condition for its age with the blade retaining its original shape but shows some pitting as does the marlin spike and bolsters. There is a small rivet crack in the well-rubbed staghorn handle(see photo) but this does not affect the solid feel to this knife. The blade has a strong spring with a solid snap and no wobble whatsoever. The marlin spike has a similar strong spring again with no wobble.
