Description
This is a very rare and large sized Sunderland Lustre Jug – Bridport, Dorset with inscription for ‘Richard Gale’ who was born 1847 Bridport, Dorset. An unusual colour in orange/peach with 4 transfers printed on each side being the ‘Sunderland Bridge’, ‘Great Australia’, a ‘Schooner’ and a ‘Sailor saying his farewells’. Also four panels of poems. Richard Gale is listed in the 1851 census in Bridport, Dorset, as a 3 year old child.
