Description
SOLD Georgian mahogany and rosewood Pembroke table
A good late George 111 (circa the 1800s) small double drawer pedestal Pembroke side table raised on turned pillar quatrefoil base with reeded legs, terminating on lion paw feet. Mahogany with a deep exquisite cross-banding of Indian rosewood. Superb quality. Oak lined drawers. Sympathetically traditionally repolished top with shellac mix. This is as nice a table as any on the market of its type. And extremely rare on a pedestal with sweeping quatrefoil legs. Rare enough on a pillar plinth base, but nowhere near as elegant as this fine and rare Georgian pedestalled original.
Condition. With a very few outpatient touch-ups to bring this back to prime condition, we can now offer this truly adorable original piece of fine superbly proportioned 18th century formal English furniture to a proud new owner. Best one we have seen in many years.
