British born Cecil Rochfort D’ Oyly John. (1906-1993) Very popular and certain to rise steadily. There are several galleries who already sell similar works from this artist at £2,000/3000. When most were £300-600 not so many years ago when I first came upon him. Becoming ever more sought after then, a good sign at this early stage. Large bright heavy knifed with a deft touch. Very striking, and these are the ones doing the best at auction. Coast and coastal village scenes in original frames. If not already, soon this artist will be copied, original framed helps.
This is a large painting knifed oils in his usual vibrant colours and impressionist style. Young boy fishing. South France!
