A very well made Arts & Crafts quarter sawn oak open bookcase by Shapland & Petter of Barnstaple, Devon c1900.
Decorative detail to the top gallery, above a glazed cupboard with original slightly domed glass, and silver plated copper strap hinges. Three adjustable shelves and stands on shaped supports. The lock has been replaced with a working lock and key.
In good condition, made with good quality timber, just a few light ring marks to the top, and the silver is wearing through on the strap hinges.
