Description
19th century Scottish reclining library reading chair, made of walnut with an arch framed back, padded arms and turned supports. The large seat has a bow front over turned legs which stands on the original castors. Upholstered in black leather, the back being deeply buttoned. The reclining mechanism works from a brass pull button on the side which allows the backrest to be set in different positions and is stamped P.Reid & Co Kilm’k. In good condition, no rips or repairs to the leather. The studio lighting has lightened the shade of the wood along the top rail.
