This is a set of 4 medallions depicting Sir Winston Churchill made in sterling silver with 24ct gold plate to commemorate the centenary of his birth in 1974 by John Pinches (London): the greatest medallists in post war Britain.
These four Churchill ones have the following engraved along the rim:
“Winston Churchill Antique 24ct on Sterling No.84”
Issued in a limited and numbered edition in 1974.
Each medal has a relief of Churchill on one side and a quotation on the other.
Each one weighs around 38g each.
Minor tarnish on some of these and minor marks on the red leather box – does not affect the overall desirability and rarity.
The set comes in its original box with John Pinches Certificate of Authenticity (low Issue Number 84) AND original cleaning/care instructions!
