A rare satinwood kidney shaped serving tray with beautiful marquetry including ebony, boxwood, coromandel and harewood.
Circa 1880 (maybe earlier) with the makers label ‘Edwards and Roberts’ on the back. Brass carrying handles.
Size – 26″ x 14″
Edwards and Roberts were among the best English furniture makers of the 19th centuary. Using the finest timber they were renowned for the quality and style of their marquetry furniture which is much sought after today. It is rare to find a tray with this makers stamp on it and even rarer to find one with a paper label.
