Rare 12 Palestine COLOUR Photographic Postcard Booklet including Interior view Masjid Al Aqsa c1920

This is a delightful and rare booklet that contains 12 stunning COLOUR photographic postcards of JERUSALEM from around 100 years ago!

Towards the end of the nineteenth century (1870 onwards), companies like Thomas Cook started to offer cruises to “The Holy Land” to the growing middle class in Britain. Hundreds of thousands of these ‘pilgrims’ would visit Egypt, Palestine and Lebanon and would bring back souvenirs of their once in a lifetime visits.

This book is a beautiful work of art with 12 colour postcards that are perforated so that they can be easily removed and sent to family & friends in the post.

This is a rare survivor as people used these as they were intended: they would remove the postcard and then write on it before sending it off.
