Description
A Royal Coat of Arms Marriage Carved Oak Hall Bench Settle, c 1700.
The back panel is heavily carved with pairing emblems, dragons, phoenix, thistles, roses. Typical of marriage dowry pieces from the early 18th century.
The central panel is carved with an impressive Royal Coat of Arms. Flanked by a pair of arms, above a seat with a hinged central section, above a quadruple panelled base.
Sublime colour and patination throughout.
