Description
Two images on one sheet comparing the tables of a party of voluptuary and a group of miserly men. At the top, a number of inebriated laughing figures raise their glasses in a toast. The figures are dressed in finery, their heavy-set frames evidence of a more debauched life filled with and excess of fine food, drink and entertainment. In the second image a group of elderly misers hunch over a table, grumbling over calculations. Their glasses are small and empty. Etching with original hand colouring. Some tears to print. 26cm wide x 37 high, drawn by Thomas Rowlandson
