Description
A beautifully detailed Japanese Cloisonne and Ginbari (foil technique) box depicting a lady with chickens. The background and base of the container is in a rich turquoise enamel with the image in wire and foil enamel known as Ginbari. This Oriental piece would certainly date from the second half of the 19th century.

nIt measures 3” x 2 1/2” by just under 1 1/2” deep (770mm x 610mm x 37mm). The inside is enamelled in a shade of brown. A section of the back bottom half of the box has been professionally restored but this is only noticeable in a certain light. I have added comprehensive images in the gallery photos.
