Note the old cast iron hand waterpump,allowing the man to fill his bucket,and the horses attention being captured as they glance towards the reward they are about to receive.

The horses being shown pulling the canvas looped wagon full of supplies and a rolled bail of hay.

The artist has monogramed his initials in the bottom right hand corner,signing W.H.
The painting is also dated 1928.
