Portrait of a young noble beauty against a landscape background, wearing a large red headdress topped with white feathers (due to the physiognomic similarity probably portrait of Caroline Bonaparte Murat, the sister of Napoleon). This extremely fine portrait miniature was executed by Marc-Antoine Hervier ( French, active 1783-1820). He was a pupil of David and Aubry, and exhibited at the Salon of Paris from 1810 to 1817.
