Description
A Glamorous original 1970’s Maison Jansen Table Lamp.
Crafted brass makes up the body of the lamp, formed into intricate sharp palm leaves, which cradle lightbulbs to direct soft light around your space, set into a black lacquer square base.
Paris-based design firm Maison Jansen was one of the most well-known and influential interior decorating houses of the 20th century, patronized by royalty, socialites, leaders of nations, and other luminaries of elite society. Customers have included the Rockefellers, Bartolomé March, Coco Chanel, Elsie de Wolfe, and the Kennedys, among many others. Today, Maison Jansen’s designs are highly sought-after by collectors
The overall condition of the lamp is very good with some signs of wear on the brass leaves, which has a beautiful subtle patina. A Couple of leaves have split down the centre vein of the leaf, as would happen in nature anyway and does not detract from the beauty. (Please examine accompanying photographs).
The approximate overall size is 85cm (w) x 55 cm (h), the base being 22cm (is w) x 25cm (h) and accommodates four screw in bulbs. It is in fine working order and the cable is in very good condition, although as it is original, you may want to replace.
This design is a particularly rare one and is a must for any Collector.
A true Statement piece!
