A good quality bookcase bureau with a rare makers stamp – Tudor and Burrey who were 19th century fine furniture makers in Shrewsbury. Made from mahogany with ebony and boxwood stringing and featuring a tambour top which opens to reveal a fitted interior and a reading/writing slope. Another sign of quality is the mahogany lined drawers one of which is fitted with a pencil slope and 2 ink bottles (later)
Dating to around 1820 this is a nice sized piece of furniture which comes with a working lock and key to the 2 front drawers and bookcase.
