An exquisitely crafted Japanese hibachi (shichirin), dating from the late Meiji to Taisho period (circa 1890–1920). Fashioned from richly figured Keyaki wood (Japanese Zelkova), the rectangular form houses a metal-lined charcoal basin, traditionally used for heating and boiling water in domestic settings. Surrounding the brazier are multiple drawers with brass handles, thoughtfully arranged to store utensils, fuel, and accessories—balancing utility with aesthetic refinement.
