Description
WWI Imperial German enlisted man’s leather belt and metal buckle, distinguished by its rare and highly desirable unit markings. The set features a classic period “Gott mit uns” (God with us) brass buckle with a beautiful, untouched patina. The black leather belt remains complete with its period adjustment holes and leather keeper loop. The true historical value of this piece lies in its clear period stamps, which identify it as having been issued to the 2. Jäger-Bataillon (2nd Jäger Battalion), an elite light infantry formation that was part of the 12. Infanterie-Regiment “Prinz Arnulf” within the 3rd Bavarian Corps. This unit famously saw heavy and brutal combat during the Isonzo Front campaigns in 1917, including the breakthrough at Tolmein and the capture of Stol, Livka, and Čedad (Cividale del Friuli).
