A lively Chinese hanging scroll depicting the celebrated theme of the Eight Steeds — a symbol of strength, vitality and success. The horses are shown in varied, naturalistic poses: grazing by the water’s edge, cantering through the landscape, or pausing beneath trees creating a sense of rhythm and energy across the scene, while the soft washes of ink and colour lend the landscape a gentle, atmospheric depth. Above the painting, bold calligraphy presents the title, accompanied by smaller inscriptions and red seals that add both balance and authenticity to the work. The combination of calligraphy and painting — wenrenhua tradition — reinforces the harmony between text, image and meaning. The scroll is mounted on a patterned blue brocade border with plain silk sections above and below, all in good condition and ready to hang. It is accompanied by its fitted storage case, decorated with printed characters identifying the subject. A storage case accompanies the piece.
