A very well made Arts & Crafts solid walnut settle by Gillows & Co of Lancaster and London. Exceptional carving of foliate and flower design to the five front panels, and dated 1880. A lift up seat with useful storage below, along with the registration number and Gillows & Co makers mark. The seat and backrest has been newly and fully upholstered with new padding to meet with fire regulations and covered in a good quality William Morris fabric.
In good overall condition, no breaks or repairs.
