Description
A distinguished Georgian mahogany serpentine chest of drawers, crafted in beautifully figured timber and presented in excellent antique condition. The four graduated drawers are fitted with decorative brass handles and escutcheons, framed by finely carved canted side edges that lend definition and emphasise the elegant Georgian profile.
The top drawer opens to reveal a baize‑covered writing slope with recessed inkwell wells to either side. Beneath the slope sits a fitted interior of small compartments and drawers, ideal for writing accessories and personal items. A concealed side drawer, complete with historical ink stains, adds a charming touch of period ingenuity.
Standing on neat bracket feet, this is a fabulous and versatile piece offering excellent storage, discreet compartments, and a graceful presence in any well‑appointed interior.
