Georgian 8 Matching Silver Plate Candlesticks by Fattorini & Sons Ltd

Georgian Silver Plate Set of 8 Matching Candlesticks by Fattorini & Sons Ltd, Bradford
A superb set of eight matching antique candlesticks by Fattorini & Sons Ltd of Bradford, offering an impressive combination of elegant design, craftsmanship and decorative detail.

Fattorini & Sons has a long-established Yorkshire history. The business was founded by Antonio Fattorini, who established his Bradford business in the 1830s. The Bradford branch was run by his sons John and Edward Fattorini and became known as Fattorini & Sons.

The company was involved in the production and retail of gold and silver jewellery, silverware and electro-plated goods, with an 1863 Bradford directory advertising Fattorini & Sons as gold and silversmiths and specifically listing electro-plated goods, table cutlery and silverware.

Fattorini & Sons later became particularly famous for its medals, badges, trophies and ceremonial silver, and the firm’s work included the design and manufacture of the FA Cup in 1911. The company also produced a wide range of silver and gold items, including coffee pots, dishes and other silverware.

These eight candlesticks display the decorative style associated with fine period silverware, featuring ornate scrolling and floral decoration, beautifully shaped stems and substantial square bases. The matching set would make a particularly impressive centrepiece for a large dining table, country house or period interior.

Dimensions:
• Height: 25 cm (9¾ inches)
• Base: 11 cm x 11 cm square
• Quantity: 8 matching candlesticks
• Maker: Fattorini & Sons Ltd, Bradford

A highly decorative and impressive complete set, ideal for collectors of antique silver and fine period tableware.

Please note: I would describe these as silver-plated according to the actual hallmarks or construction, rather than claiming solid silver unless the marks confirm it. The historical records show Fattorini & Sons produced both silverware and electro-plated goods.
