Folding Stained En Plein Air Easel (in the open air)

Circa 1900. A stained beech and mahogany folding artist’s easel by ‘L.K.W Crowley’, with a simple shaft which is adjustable, the rise and fall sections are on a folding mechanism, the top with a bracket for holding the painting in place, the bottom with a large flat section on a ratchet for adjusting, with brass hinges and runners. The two uprights are held in place by butterfly nuts in the low base, the easel can be folded up to a neat size.
