A beautiful signed & dated oil by Edgar Hunt the famous painter of chickens. This work is in untouched original condition and fully signed and dated. The work is beautifully done, his paintings are highly sought after. Edgar Hunt was the son of the genre painter Charles Hunt, and younger brother of the animalist painter Walter Hunt, with whom he studied. He exhibited little, preferring to live quietly in the Midlands countryside. His works are characterised by his unchanging, meticulous technique and style. He specialised in farm animals: poultry, goats, ponies and donkeys. For my money, Edger Hunt is the most exacting painter of chickens ever to paint them. Truly stunning quality.
