Derrick Latimer Sayer 1917-1992 Large ABSTRACT STUDY Signed and dated 1972

Sayer studied at the Chelsea school of art under Henry Moore and Graham Sutherland. Also under Ben Nicholson at his St Ives studio.

10 of his painting are in permanent residence at the Hicks Gallery, (Healing Arts) hanging beside Patrick Heron, Mary Fedden and Howard Hodgkins. Not generally a contemporary art lover, but I have to say these Sayer mixed media paintings really have me drawn in, thankfully I am a dealer, not a collector, but I could certainly live with this and the other we presently have available. Bright vibrant and full of a conundrum.
