Description
A rectangular solid oak stool made by Colin ‘Beaverman’ Almack c1960’s, one of the ‘Yorkshire Critter’ craftsmen. Inspired by the Arts & Crafts movement, Almack was trained and worked for Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson as a master cabinet maker in the 1940’s. Almack started his own workshop in the 1960’s and Beaverman furniture was started. The stool stands on four carved square and octagonal legs joined by stretchers, with his signature beaver carved to the one of the legs. In good condition, solid, no loose joints, the seat has been newly upholstered with antique leather.
