Description
Arts and Crafts three tier buffet server by Trapnell & Gane c1900, made of stained and very well figured oak with the medullary rays quite pronounced. The top tier has a galleried back, having two drawers below with their original copper handles which are also used on Shapland & Petter furniture (illustrated on page 72 of the Shapland & Petter of Barnstaple book by Daryl Bennett). The Trapnell & Gane plaque can be seen inside the left hand drawer. The buffet stands on cut decorative legs and has pierced motifs on the corner brackets. In good condition, no damage and no repairs.
