A dated Edwardian oak cased aneroid barometer, the well-carved base including stylish architecturally pediment with carving on the shaped body, including full and scratch carving, the thermometer with an unusual curled snail shaped reservoir, in a glass fronted panel, the silverised dial has the barometric reading and the retailer’s name ‘R & T Johnson Daarlingtonn’, unusually this barometer has two extra arms, one to show the pressure over days, with a presentation plaque – ‘Presented to Mr R Hugill by the Sockburn Cricket Club on the occasion of his Marriage June 30th 1904’.
