1901 Art Nouveau Sheffield Plate Cricket Trophy Shield, by Walker Hall and Sons This is a fantastic piece, a work of art, the Oak shield has an embossed Sheffield Silver plate, in the centre of this a scene from a cricket match and around this Art Nouveau stylised Angels and other leaves etc. and was made by Walker Hall and Sons At the top of the cartouche there is a red leather cricket ball and around the edges engraved shields of the winners of the cup from 1901 onwards This is a truly beautiful piece, the shield has a stand at the back, it is in good sound condition though some of the plate has been worn away by an eager polisher 28″ high, 20″ wide and 4″ deep TKW100 Manufacture Date : 1901 Materials : Silver-plate
