A charming Edwardian mahogany revolving bookcase of compact proportions, raised on its original revolving base with castors, allowing easy access from all sides. The square top is finely figured and beautifully inlaid with an elegant central marquetry panel of scrolling foliate ornament, enclosed within delicate crossbanded and line-inlaid borders.
The revolving superstructure is arranged with open divisions over three tiers, providing ample storage for books. The uprights are neatly moulded and well proportioned, reflecting the restrained elegance characteristic of the Edwardian period.
Presented in excellent antique condition, the bookcase displays a rich, warm mahogany colour and a pleasing patina developed over many years. It revolves smoothly on its original mechanism and remains both highly practical and decorative, equally suited to use as a library bookcase, occasional table, or distinctive feature in a sitting room, study, or office.
