A finely cast bronze depicting a Tunisian water carrier, titled Porteur d’Eau Tunisien. The figure stands in a poised, forward‑leaning stance, balancing two traditional water vessels suspended from rope slings. His clothing is beautifully modelled — the gathered trousers, sleeveless tunic and wrapped waistband all rendered with crisp, naturalistic folds that catch the light across the warm patinated surface.
The sculptor, D. Debut, is credited on the original plaque to the base, along with “2ème Prix de Rome”, indicating his recognition in the prestigious Prix de Rome competition. The bronze sits on its original decorative base, which retains a rich, even patina and sharp detailing throughout.
