Description
Locomotive: This elegant steam engine features a 4-2-2 wheel arrangement, famously nicknamed “Spinners” due to their large, single pair of driving wheels. Samuel W. Johnson designed several batches of these beautiful singles for the Midland Railway between 1887 and 1900. They were built for high-speed, light express passenger services running out of London St Pancras and across the midlands, sporting the railway’s iconic crimson lake livery
