Crown Devon was a trade name used by S. Fielding & Co., a pottery manufacturer based in Stoke-on-Trent, England, operating from 1879 to 1982. This particular ‘Spring’ pattern jug, bearing registration number G53210, was produced in the early 20th century and exemplifies the company’s decorative Art Nouveau and Art Deco style wares. The floral garland decoration and cream-colored body with pewter lid were typical of Crown Devon’s popular tableware lines during the 1920s-1930s.
