Dutch Fruitwood and Ebony Peat Bucket SA4185

Wonderful 19th‑century Dutch fruitwood peat bucket, beautifully crafted with a richly polished body and its original brass liner. The exterior is decorated with horizontal ribbed bands, giving the bucket a strong visual rhythm and a pleasing tactile quality. The warm, dark timber contrasts elegantly with the bright brass rim and fittings, creating a classic fireside look. The interior retains its brass lining, and the bucket is fitted with a sturdy brass swing handle — practical in use and decorative in its own right. The proportions are generous and well‑balanced, making it both functional and highly decorative. Originally used for storing peat beside the hearth, this piece now serves equally well as a kindling bucket, planter, waste bin, or simply as a sculptural accent in any room.
