John Charles Gray (d. 1958) was a Dundee artist known for his charming rural and local landscape scenes. Born without hands, he painted using his mouth and feet, astonishing teachers with his natural talent from an early age. He lived for many years in Downfield, where he became a well‑loved figure, remembered for both his artwork and his habit of singing as he worked. His paintings often depict the countryside around Dundee and now serve as a nostalgic record of the area.
