A stunning early twentieth century German porcelain plaque (probably KPM) by Hermann Sontag (1873-1944) after the original painting “Piccolo” by Eugene von Blaas (1843-1932). The plaque depicts a young man smoking a cigarette and is signed lower right and titled verso. A similar example sold at auction in the USA last year for $562. This piece most likely dates to the start of the twentieth century.
Condition: Very good condition, free from cracks or restoration; well framed and ready to hang.
Size: 8 x 12 cm (plaque), 20 x 24 cm (framed).
