Anglo-Indian Padouk Campaign Chest SAI3556

This Anglo‑Indian Padouk campaign chest is a remarkable example of period craftsmanship, offered in beautifully untouched antique condition. Designed in two sections for ease of transport, it retains its original four brass carry handles and features two deep short drawers over three long drawers, all smoothly running, dovetail‑constructed, and fitted with inset bun handles.

As with all genuine antique pieces, it carries the marks of its history: a small fragment missing from the corner of the gadroon carving and a fine crack to one side (shown in the photos). These are honest signs of age rather than structural concerns.

The chest remains strong, sturdy, and full of character, with a rich Padouk colouring, attractive grain, and an exceptional patina. A superb and practical piece of Anglo‑Indian campaign furniture, offering both generous storage and a tangible sense of history to any interior.
