Description
A set of eight Arts and Crafts dining chairs made of oak, having an arched top rail over a tulip cut out to the centre of the back slat. Upholstered in a William Morris fabric ‘Willow Bough’. The plague indicates the manufacturer S.J Waring & Sons 175-181 Oxford Street, London and at Liverpool & Manchester, dating the chairs to c1890’s. In 1897 Gillow & Co was acquired and the name changed to Waring & Gillow. The chairs are in good condition, nice warm oak colour and all joints are tight.
