Description
Superb Japanese Dansu/ Tansu made from elm wood with brass fittings. In excellent original condition with only minor historic knocks / marks, as is to be expected with functional antique furniture. The chest splits in two sections which makes for easy transportation and has an arrangement of a two door cupboard, 3 small drawers and two full length drawers in the top section and two full length drawers in the base providing lots of storage space. Its warm colouring and rich graining gives this chest real charm and character, a perfect addition to any room. This is a fantastic find as it comes with a certificate which explains that it was made in Japan and was used to store Japanese Kimono dresses and that it was found in Pusan / Busan city in Korea and states the chest was 100 yrs old in 1987. Also a shipping invoice and insurance certificates for shipping from Korea back to Japan
