Beautiful OLD Jambiya LARGE Wood Handle Omani Saudi Arabia
This is a LARGE and very BEAUTIFUL jambiya with absolutely stunning intricate silver work on the outside. It is also a very OLD one that is around 100 years old, possibly older.
It is the best we have owned in thirty years of dealing antiques.
The whole outer part is covered with the most exquisite silver filigree work.
The handle is made from wood which was only done on the best ones as most of them have silver/metal handles. Even the handle has some wonderful silver work on it.
This would have been made by a master craftsman and would have been made for someone important as it is a good large size:
370mm length (37cm/14 inches) overall
We have seen similar ones sell for over one thousand pounds.
This amazing antique jambiya is in excellent condition as it has been carefully stored and well looked after by the same owner for many decades. It is fresh to the market and has come from a private North of England collection.
